Description :

 

  • Participate in daily standup calls at 5:30AM (Oct-Apr) / 6:30AM (Apr-Oct) to coordinate tasks and priorities.
  • Monitor log emails from various servers including website, payroll, fileserver, and mail servers.
  • Maintain incident logs and report data breaches to ATO (Australian Taxation Office) as per compliance requirements.
  • Prepare the annual ATO Operational Framework security questionnaire.
  • Maintain key management systems (GPG keys) to ensure data security.
  • Keep Debian servers up to date with the latest patches and security fixes.
  • Develop and maintain Perl and Python scripts to answer questions from staff and clients regarding payroll systems, websites, and leaves.
  • Load old backup files into test systems for validation and testing purposes.
  • Perform modifications to Python code (payroll system) and Perl code (secure website) as required.
  • Assist in onboarding new clients by setting up translators, creating rules, reports, and necessary configurations.
  • Update and maintain reports, automatic report authorization, and access controls.
  • Manage webimport.conf file updates and vardata rules.
  • Resolve rpt2web issues and unlock Samba accounts as needed.
  • Address and fix errors in leave applications and timesheets on the website.
  • Assist payroll staff with amendments to the previous financial year and schema/data updates.
  • Deactivate companies and remove employees from the website upon request.
  • Verify and manage email communications, including handling bounce emails and updating client information.
  • Collaborate with staff to update incorrect email addresses and bank account details.
  • Remind payroll staff of necessary actions in response to web import warnings.
  • Manage changes to employee company information and update BSB lists on secure websites.
  • Perform repairs on payroll errors and update Apache TLS certificates.
  • Execute annual tax updates, variable updates, and creation/updating of end-of-year (EOY) backups.
  • Maintain public holiday calendars and perform annual deletion of data for ex-clients.
  • Archive F:/client directory annually for data management purposes.
  • Participate in end-of-day (EOD) calls at 10:30AM (Oct-Apr) / 11:30AM (Apr-Oct) for team synchronization and task alignment.
Requirements :
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in software development and system administration.
  • Proficiency in Perl, Python, and SQL programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of system administration principles and server configurations.
  • Experience with Debian Linux servers and web server configurations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in software development and operations.
